Micro-undulation works on the principle of reducing the contact surface area.

This electrochemical treatment produces a closed, micro-deburred surface with a wave like texture. As with electropolishing, the peaks of the roughness are rounded off, but the base roughness is slightly higher. This creates an air cushion effect between the stainless steel and the powder.
In many applications involving internal transport, packaging machinery, etc., this ‘rounded wave texture’ ensures greatly improved sliding properties and a low coefficient of friction, with reduced deposits.
Depending on the application, you can choose between electrolytic polishing, which produces a super-smooth surface, or micro-undulation with a smooth wave structure.

This treatment has already become widely adopted in internal transport and packaging within the food industry. In particular, chutes, hoppers, slides, weighing bunkers, etc., can be treated, both before and after filling and packaging.
The result is significantly improved flow of food products at all stages of the production process.
The cleanability of the installations is significantly improved following micro-undulation.
Micro-undulation has proven its worth for many bulk materials, powders and granules.
It offers the same high corrosion resistance and cleanability as electro-polishing.
